A shocking accident occurred on Highway 3191 when a six-wheel water truck failed to brake in time, crashing into a pickup truck waiting to turn before losing control, crossing lanes, and flipping onto a motorcycle taxi, killing the rider instantly and injuring the truck driver.

At approximately 12:00 PM on November 3, 2026, officers from Nikhom Phatthana Police Station in Rayong province were alerted to a collision involving a water truck, a pickup truck, and a motorcycle taxi with fatalities and injuries on Highway 3191 in Nikhom Phatthana district. Police and rescue workers from the Siam Rayong Foundation rushed to the scene.

They found the six-wheel water truck overturned in the middle of the road, with the motorcycle taxi crushed beneath it. The body of Mr. Ko (surname withheld), the motorcycle taxi driver, was found trapped under the truck. The water truck driver was the sole injured person and was rushed to hospital by rescue workers.

CCTV footage from a nearby shop revealed the water truck was traveling at high speed from Nikhom Phatthana district toward Mae Nam Khu subdistrict, Pluak Daeng district. When it reached the accident site, a pickup truck was stopped in the road waiting to turn. The water truck, unable to brake in time, swerved and hit the pickup hard before losing control, skidding across the opposite lane and flipping onto Mr. Ko's motorcycle taxi which was passing by at that moment, causing his immediate death.

Initially, police documented the scene and collected all evidence, while coordinating to detain the water truck driver. Once his injuries have healed, he will be questioned in detail to press charges and proceed with legal action.

MP Thawi Links Toxic Waste Crisis to Structural Corruption

Prachachat Party leader and MP Pol. Lt. Col. Thawi Sodsong has blamed structural corruption and financial loopholes for Thailand's worsening toxic waste crisis. Citing cases in Prachinburi, Chonburi, and other provinces, he detailed how regulatory failures and nominee systems allow hazardous waste dumping, chemical contamination, and smuggling to persist. Thawi called for legal reforms to return litigation rights to affected communities and criticized a new Ministry of Commerce regulation that further shields intra-group corporate transactions from scrutiny.
