World Artists Inspire Thai Youth at Bangkok Arts Festival
The Department of Cultural Promotion awarded funding for the fifth Student Outreach Program at the 28th Bangkok International Performing Arts and Music Festival. The initiative provides Thai youth with free workshops and mentorship from world‑class artists, including an orchestral session led by a conductor from Belarus’ Bolshoi Theatre. Officials say the program aims to nurture talent and reduce inequality in the creative sector.
The Department of Cultural Promotion continues to drive its creative economy and human resources policy, organizing the grant‑giving ceremony for the fifth Student Outreach Program under the 28th Bangkok International Performing Arts and Music Festival in the semicircular hall of the main auditorium at the Thailand Cultural Centre, with Director‑General Chotika Akrakitsophakul presiding. The sponsorship plaque was presented to Rasinee Uberoi, managing director of International Cultural Promotion Company Limited. The program shares the department’s goal of developing Thai children’s and youth’s abilities, inspiring them, and providing free, direct learning experiences from global artists to bridge opportunity gaps and cultivate future forces in the nation’s creative sector. In addition to the grant ceremony, an Orchestral Workshop—one of the project’s highlights—was conducted the same day, featuring a world‑class conductor from the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus who shared professional performance techniques and experience with members of the Thai Youth Orchestra under royal patronage (TYO). The workshop aims to open learning pathways and raise the musical standards of Thai youth to an international level.
