Motorbike Taxi Driver Brutally Attacked by Fellow Rider, Police Stall
A motorcycle taxi driver was ambushed and severely beaten by two fellow riders after they blocked his path, leaving him bruised and unable to work. Despite filing a police report on September 17, the case has stalled, prompting him to seek help from the Sai Mai Tong Rot page. Police have pledged to expedite the investigation.
On October 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., Pruksa (surname withheld), 49, went to the Sai Mai Tong Rot page for help after being brutally attacked by fellow motorcycle‑taxi riders Beer and Pond. He said the incident occurred on September 17 at around 7:00 p.m. while he was riding to pick up goods at the Maruya Market. As he approached a village, Beer and Pond cut him off on their motorcycles, forcing him to stop. Beer then jumped off his bike and punched Pruksa in the face more than ten times, knocking him off his bike, before kicking him repeatedly. When Pruksa tried to get up, Pond joined in, striking him several more times. A good‑samaritan who witnessed the assault shouted for help, causing the attackers to flee on their motorcycles.
The assault left Pruksa with severe bruising and swelling to his face, chest, and body. A clear video of the attack, recorded by a passerby’s dashboard camera, exists as key evidence. Pruksa believes the attack stemmed from jealousy because he was busier and had more customers than the assailants. Since the attack he has avoided working, fearing further retaliation from the men, whom he says hold influence in the area.
Although he reported the crime to the Lam Luk Ka Police Station on the day of the incident, nearly half a month later the case shows no progress and the suspects continue to work normally. Pruksa said he lives in constant fear and has lost his source of income, prompting him to turn to the Sai Mai Tong Rot page for assistance.
Niran Ngaern, a representative of the Sai Mai Tong Rot page, immediately contacted Police Colonel Thirathep Chanlad of the Lam Luk Ka Police Station, who promised to order investigators to speed up the case and bring the perpetrators to justice. The page’s team also plans to help Pruksa file a claim with the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice, for compensation as a victim of a criminal case.
