Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation warned 19 central and southern provinces on July 10 to monitor conditions for flash floods, sudden flooding, mudslides, and rough seas from July 10-15. Director-General Theeraphath Katchmatya said the Central Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command has been tracking weather patterns alongside meteorological forecasts predicting strong winds over the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, with heavy rain expected across the southern west coast, western central region, and eastern areas. Flash flooding, mudslides, and high waves exceeding 4 meters are possible during thunderstorms. The 10 monitored central provinces include Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and others, while the six southern provinces include Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi. Additional provinces face rough sea warnings. Authorities instructed local officials to monitor weather and water conditions continuously, close natural attractions and caves if risks emerge, issue coastal warnings prohibiting swimming, alert fishermen to exercise caution, and prepare evacuation shelters within 24 hours.
