On August 18, Phyathai Hospital Group and Paolo Hospital Group introduced Addwise Comorbid, Thailand's first intelligent clinical assistant platform, marking their evolution from Digital Health Ecosystem to Intelligent Health Ecosystem. The platform systematically helps physicians assess and detect comorbidity risks across nine critical body systems, then connects patients to specialists and multidisciplinary teams as needed.
The launch builds on the hospital networks' existing digital foundation, which includes the Health Up app with over one million downloads and a telecare service. Addwise Comorbid adds a clinical intelligence layer to shift care from treating visible diseases to uncovering hidden risks, consistent with the hospital group's "Partner for Life" philosophy.
Dr. Anantasakdi Apairat, Chief Medical Officer of Phyathai and Paolo hospital networks, noted that modern patients often have multiple interconnected comorbidities, some without obvious symptoms. Care must therefore move beyond treating immediate complaints to understanding each patient's health holistically, aligning with value-based healthcare principles that optimize individual outcomes.
"Over 40 years of patient care has given us medical expertise, clinical knowledge, and understanding of patient journeys," Dr. Anantasakdi said. "Today we integrate that foundation with data and technology to know patients better, spot risks faster, and connect them to more appropriate care. Addwise Comorbid is a crucial step toward elevating our healthcare ecosystem to a new standard."
Dr. Jet John Tepthonwachj, Chief of Medical Information and Informatics at Phyathai 2 and advisor to both hospital networks, explained that Addwise Comorbid upgrades clinical software by letting physicians view patient health data and risk factors systematically. It applies the Review of Systems (ROS) approach through evidence-based algorithms and clinical practice guidelines.
The system functions as a clinical decision support tool, organizing data and flagging areas for further investigation, though diagnosis and treatment decisions remain with the attending physician. By filtering across nine body systems, it helps doctors focus on each patient's relevant risks, reducing comprehensive history-taking from over 30 minutes to just a few minutes of targeted assessment.
The hospital group is also elevating staff to the role of "Longevity Assistant" or Clinical Navigator.
