Thai Rock Star Nene Royal Wins America's Got Talent Season 21
Thai rock guitarist Nene Royal, 16, from Phuket became the first Thai winner of America's Got Talent Season 21, collapsing on stage with joy after her victory was announced.
Nene Royal, Thailand's first rock star to win America's Got Talent Season 21, has opened up about her victory. "I'm very happy. I'm very emotional right now. I just want to say thank you to all of you guys for supporting and loving me," she said. After learning the results, the 16-year-old guitarist from Phuket collapsed on stage with extreme joy amid screams from the audience.
Her final performance came on September 23, where she performed the legendary song "Seven Nation Army," impressing audiences worldwide. Her performance clip has surpassed millions of views. Before the AGT Season 21 championship was announced, Nene Royal also impressed by performing alongside legendary rock band Linkin Park on "The Emptiness Machine," a 2024 release that amazed even the band members themselves.
After winning the championship, Nene Royal shared her feelings: "I'm very happy. I'm very emotional right now. I just want to say thank you to all of you guys for supporting and loving me."
AGT champions can choose between two prize options: an annuity of 1 million US dollars paid over 40 years at 25,000 dollars per year (approximately 830,000 baht annually, before taxes for foreigners), or a lump sum of approximately 300,000 to 430,000 US dollars (approximately 9.9 to 14.2 million baht, before taxes).
