On June 30, 2569, the Thai Meteorological Department issued Alert No. 8 (98/2569) regarding heavy to very heavy rainfall across Thailand and strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea, effective from June 30 to July 3, 2569.
From June 30 to July 3, Thailand will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas, particularly in the Eastern Region and the Western Coast of the Southern Region. This is due to a monsoon trough passing through the Northern and Upper Northeastern regions, combined with intensifying southwest monsoon winds covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents in affected areas are urged to be cautious of dangers from heavy rainfall and accumulated precipitation, which may cause flash flooding and forest runoff, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions.
Regarding sea conditions, the upper Andaman Sea will experience fairly strong winds from June 30 to July 3, 2569, with waves 2-3 meters high. Areas with thunderstorms will see waves exceeding 3 meters. The lower Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves approximately 2 meters high, with waves exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm areas.
Fishermen in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate cautiously and avoid areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from departing during this period.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, residents are encouraged to plan daily activities and travel carefully during this period. The public is advised to monitor announcements from the Thai Meteorological Department via their website http://www.tmd.go.th, or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours daily.
