Armed Gunman Robs Bank in Bangkok, Flees With 1.5 Million Baht
A gunman robbed a Bangkok bank in broad daylight and escaped with 1.5 million baht, abandoning and torching his getaway vehicle on a major road as police launched a manhunt.
At 4 p.m. on September 10, 2026, staff at Khlong Luang Police Station received a report of an armed robbery at a bank branch in the Talad Thai area. The report was forwarded to Deputy Pathum Thani Provincial Police Commander Visnurak Prommes, who coordinated with the station to investigate the scene.
Police determined that a lone male suspect, dressed in black clothing and armed with a gun, robbed the bank and escaped with approximately 1.5 million baht in cash. He fled in a black Toyota Vios with license plate Khm-8353. Police immediately broadcast a radio alert to intercept the vehicle along the suspected escape route.
Later reports confirmed that the suspect had abandoned the getaway vehicle and set it on fire on Phaholyothin Road near Thammasat Hospital. Khlong Luang Police Station and the investigation unit are actively pursuing leads and continuing their investigation into the robbery.
