Man Surrenders After Jumping From Condo, Holding Gun to Head
A 41‑year‑old man surrendered to police in Nonthaburi after jumping from a condo, breaking his leg, and pointing a gun at his own head. He had negotiated to hug his mother and wife before giving up, and officers recovered two firearms from his bag. He is now in custody and faces charges including attempted murder and illegal possession of a weapon.
On October 8, 2026, police from Region 1’s investigation unit arrived with an arrest warrant for 41‑year‑old Chalempron, wanted by Bang Mae Nang Police Station in Nonthaburi for attempted murder and firearms offenses. They found him outside a luxury condo on Ratthanathibet Road in Tha Rai, where he had jumped from the second floor, broken his leg, and was holding a gun to his head. Negotiators failed to persuade him to surrender until his wife and son spoke with him by phone, after which his mother arrived and convinced him to put the weapon down. At about 6:30 pm he complied, asking first to hug his mother and wife as agreed. Officers seized two firearms from his bag—a 9 mm pistol fully loaded and a .45‑caliber handgun. Chalempron was then taken to Buddhachinarat Hospital for treatment of his broken leg. He now faces additional charges for carrying a firearm in public without permission.
