Authorities Raid Chumphon Warehouse, Seize Chinese Goods
Authorities raided a Chumphon warehouse on August 1, seizing Chinese-origin goods including electronics, generators, and secondhand clothing stored across four locations.
On August 1, 2025, the Regional Internal Security Command 4 (Gorm Ror Man Region 4), working with anti-smuggling units, the 1st Infantry Battalion, the 25th Infantry Regiment, Chumphon's provincial security command, Chumphon Customs, and Thai police, raided a warehouse in Tha Sae Subdistrict, Tha Sae District, Chumphon. The operation followed intelligence from a foreign labor inspection that found large quantities of goods in the facility. Authorities obtained a court warrant and conducted a lawful search.
Inspectors discovered substantial amounts of merchandise stored in four locations, including televisions, air conditioners, generators, LED light bulbs, ventilation units, chemical drums undergoing type verification, and approximately 50 sacks of secondhand clothing. Initial findings indicate most goods originated from China.
The warehouse owner stated the facility had been leased to an outside party for storage and that he is coordinating with the tenant to provide documents to officials. Authorities are currently inventorying the goods, examining import documentation, and verifying the origin of all items in detail. Any violations will be prosecuted strictly according to law.
Regional Command 4 continues to coordinate with all sectors to prevent and suppress illegal imports, tax evasion, and activities that threaten Thailand's economic security. Officials will conduct the investigation transparently, fairly, and in accordance with legal procedures, with updates to be provided as the investigation progresses.
