Bangkok Approves 649 Million Baht Flood Aid for 90,000 Households
Bangkok’s Deputy Governor Thawida announced that nearly 90,000 flood‑affected households have been approved for over 649 million baht in relief funds. The city is speeding up verification and payments through the “Thang Rat” app and its claim website, with in‑person support available at district offices. Affected residents can check the status of their assistance online.
From October 8 to 11, Bangkok verified flood damage for 88,198 households through the “Thang Rat” application and forwarded the data to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) for approval, totaling 649,418,000 baht in aid. Of this, 52,107 households received 9,000 baht each because their homes were inundated, while 36,091 households received 5,000 baht each for situations where floodwater surrounded their properties. The city’s online portal claim.bangkok.go.th had collected 86,088 assistance requests, with the highest numbers coming from Lad Krabang, Bang Kapi, Sai Mai, Khlong Sam Wa, and Min Buri districts. DDPM opened registration via the “Thang Rat” app on October 2, and Bangkok continues to offer 24‑hour online registration through the claim website, as well as in‑person services at district offices Monday‑Friday 08:30‑18:00 and weekends/holidays 08:30‑16:00. Applicants can track the status of their relief payments through the “Thang Rat” app or at https://relief.disaster.go.th.
