Flooding in Bangkok has left the P. Goong Rao restaurant with no income, yet the owner continues to pay staff by selling personal gold and a brass bracelet. Monthly wage costs are about 1.3 million baht, and the melted gold brought in over 923,000 baht. The owner says they will not abandon employees despite the losses.
The flooding has devastated business, forcing the owner of the P. Goong Rao restaurant in Laksi Saphan Mai to sell gold and a brass bracelet to keep paying staff. Although the shop has no customers and no revenue, the owner says they will not let employees go without work, continuing to pay the usual wages. Monthly salary costs amount to roughly 1.3 million baht, not including musicians, security, and DJs. The gold brought in was expected to fetch 300,000 to 400,000 baht, but after melting it yielded 923,875 baht, surprising and delighting the owner.
