Big Kritsada Takes On Dark Role In Diamond Heart Drama
Actor Big Kritsada plays a ruthless villain in the drama 'Diamond Heart Boy,' a character who stops at nothing to achieve his goals, including manipulating those around him to win over a love interest.
Big Kritsada reveals he's taking on a top-tier villain role in the intense drama 'Diamond Heart Boy' from Gantana Movie Town (2002), starring Tan Tantawan Tudomeo and Ching Kritsada Sanghasaopha. Big plays Ekpol, a selfish young man determined to achieve his goals by any means necessary.
Describing his character, Big explains: "This role is definitely villainous—a first-class bad guy (laughs)—but he adds great color to the story. From the moment I read the script, I felt this character drives the narrative. He's very cruel with a teenage-like malice, thinking only of himself. Whatever Ekpol wants, he'll do anything to get it. When he likes Natra (Ching Kritsada), he'll use any method to win her heart, thinking nothing should stand in his way—until Phetch (Tan Tantawan) arrives, which escalates Ekpol's competitive drive.
Working with Ching and Tan is comfortable since we already know each other. The challenging part is acting opposite Khun Tao Somchai, who plays Tan's father. I had to mentally and physically prepare. I was very tense initially, wanting to do my homework thoroughly before taking on such a respected senior. But once we started filming together, Khun Tao is actually very lovely, and working with him is fun. He has a certain energy that makes me realize I need to concentrate harder during our confrontation scenes.
Sometimes Khun Tao gives those subtle smiles and teasing looks, so I have to stay focused not to break character (laughs). There aren't many action sequences for me since I mostly direct my subordinates. Thanks to the familiar production team and director, they gave me creative freedom, and I gave it my all.
The feedback has been wonderful and encouraging. Everyone worked at full capacity, and the ratings when it aired have been gratifying. I want to thank the viewers. I encourage everyone to watch 'Diamond Heart Boy'—it's a well-rounded drama airing at 7 p.m., a perfect family viewing time when everyone's home together. It's a great opportunity for family bonding."
