Central Park Targets 10% Traffic Growth in Year Two
Central Park Bangkok aims for 10% traffic growth in its second year by attracting more international visitors through new global brands, cultural collaborations, and expanded international marketing, building on its successful first year th
Central Park is advancing into its second year with plans to transform from a new Bangkok landmark into a destination that international travelers must visit when coming to the Thai capital, under the concept "Bangkok's World Stage." The mall targets 10% additional traffic growth while expanding its international visitor base through three main strategies: Global Firsts, Global Culture, and Global Audience.
Kunayuth Dethodom, Assistant Managing Director of Central World and Central Park at Central Pattana Public Company Limited, revealed that the strong performance in year one serves as a solid foundation. Central Park recorded 25 million visits, averaging 60,000 daily visitors, with approximately 10 million visits from international tourists. The retail space achieved an occupancy rate exceeding 98%, positioning the venue well for year-two expansion.
Year Two Pursues "Global Firsts" to Attract World-Class Brands
The first strategy, Global Firsts, will remain Central Park's core strength, continuously drawing world-class brands, exclusive new concepts, and novel experiences. The mall will pursue First-in-Thailand launches, Global Exclusive offerings, and new-format events and experiences.
Despite high current occupancy rates, the company will use existing space, pop-up areas, and event spaces as rotating platforms to showcase new brands and experiences, giving customers fresh reasons to return. Brand selection will not focus solely on popularity but must align with Central Park's customer character and lifestyle, particularly seeking new and differentiated brands that could potentially transition to permanent operations if well-received.
Global Culture Creates a Platform for Art, Music, and Design
The second strategy, Global Culture, positions Central Park as a platform for art, music, design, and cultural exchange. The mall will invite international artists and creators to collaborate with Bangkok, generating new cultural moments. One recent example is a collaboration with Alan Hong, a renowned Taiwanese graphic designer and artist, to create a special character for Central Park. The company plans to expand such creative partnerships across various formats.
"Our core goal is to make this space not just a shopping and dining destination, but a meeting place for people, artists, brands, and cultures from around the world," Kunayuth stated.
Accelerating International Tourist Attraction
The third strategy, Global Audience, prioritizes the international tourist market more intensively. Year-one data showed strong visitation from abroad, particularly from key tourist-source markets including China, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Middle East, and Europe.
"In year two, we aim to expand this base through partnerships with global creators and partners to build international awareness and position Central Park as a must-visit destination when traveling to Bangkok," the executive said.
The central vision is making Central Park a "Showcase for Bangkok" that reflects the city's modern lifestyle—not simply importing models from other cities but creating authentic experiences rooted in Bangkok's character.
