Chat Records Reveal Drug Smuggling Plot to Melbourne
Chat messages between a Facebook administrator and a woman named Armina detail arrangements to send a 9-kilogram package to Melbourne, with Thai authorities investigating whether it involved drug smuggling.
Leaked chat messages between a Facebook administrator called 'Rose Rose' and Armina show discussions about carrying a 9-kilogram package to Melbourne. At 8:55 a.m. on June 6, 'Rose Rose' messaged Armina saying "Book 9 kilos please. Before transferring, can I see the flight ticket first?" This appeared to be negotiating the package weight for courier transport. At 9:12 a.m., Armina replied asking "This is going to Melbourne, correct?" 'Rose Rose' confirmed "Yes."
Another chat shows 'Rose Rose' sending Armina a sample of the package—a Thai-patterned fabric bag measuring 14 inches wide by 16 inches long. When Armina asked where in Melbourne to send it, 'Rose Rose' responded "Have my younger sister pick it up."
These exposed chats do not yet definitively prove whether Armina knowingly participated in the heroin trafficking or was simply hired as a courier unaware of the package's contents. Thai police continue investigating to determine her level of involvement.
