Deputy Minister Akornan Visits Flood-Hit Kanchanaburi, Aids Farmers
Deputy Minister Akornan Kanthikitinan continues to visit flood-affected areas in Kanchanaburi, coordinating with the Livestock Department to provide animal feed for farmers whose livelihoods have been disrupted. He stressed that assistance must extend beyond basic supplies to support agricultural production and livestock care during the crisis. Officials aim to deliver aid swiftly and begin recovery efforts once floodwaters recede.
On October 1, 2026, Deputy Minister Akornan Kanthikitinan, also the MP for Kanchanaburi Constituency 1 from the Pheu Thai Party, continued to monitor flood conditions and provide assistance to residents in Kanchanaburi Province. He emphasized that beyond supplying food, drinking water, medicine, and essential items, it is crucial to support farmers, especially livestock producers, because floodwaters affect agricultural output and animals still need feed and care. Akornan said he has liaised with the Department of Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to procure and deliver animal feed to affected areas, aiming to alleviate farmers' expenses while they are unable to pursue their livelihoods. He added that assistance must go hand-in-hand with preserving people's livelihoods, particularly in agriculture, which is a key source of income for local households. Authorities must coordinate across administrative, local, agricultural, and livestock agencies to ensure aid reaches farmers comprehensively, from the disaster phase through post-flood recovery. 'What we can do now is help them endure this difficult period; once the flood situation eases, we will move forward to restore their lives and livelihoods as quickly as possible,' Akornan concluded.
