Akkhananth Mobilizes Flood Relief in Kanchanaburi

On September 28, Akkhananth Kanakittinant, Kanchanaburi MP from the Pheu Thai Party and Deputy Education Minister, posted on his personal Facebook page coordinating assistance for residents affected by flooding in multiple areas across Kanchanaburi province. He urged residents in at-risk areas to urgently move belongings and valuables to higher ground.

In Wang Yen subdistrict, authorities coordinated with the subdistrict administrative organization to instruct residents in low-lying areas to secure possessions and relocate cattle and pigs to safe locations. A central kitchen is being set up to care for residents, with Akkhananth serving as the coordination center for relief efforts in the Mae Khlong Noi riverside area.

Nong Kum subdistrict is preparing a central kitchen at Nong Krathuam Temple to provide meals and deliver dry food and drinking water to three meals a day to affected households. In Song Saday subdistrict, approximately 6–7 families have been affected and have already received emergency relief bags, with boxed rice and clean water being arranged for continued assistance.

Akkhananth expressed concern for residents in at-risk areas, particularly those in low-lying zones. He coordinated with local leaders to accelerate relief efforts and asked affected residents to report directly to local leaders to ensure assistance reaches everyone comprehensively. He confirmed that authorities will monitor and support all residents until the situation is resolved and normal life resumes.

Akkhananth noted that water from Thairiyok will flow to Wang Yen and municipal district areas tomorrow. If flooding impacts residents, central kitchens will be established in all affected subdistricts, including at Nong Krathuam Temple, with volunteer cooks ready to provide relief support.
