The International Trade Promotion Department (DITP), led by Director-General Sunantha Kangwalkulkij, revealed that 2026 generated trade value of over 163.5 billion baht through international trade promotion activities, benefiting more than 314,500 businesses, importers, and service providers both domestic and international. The department's role in connecting Thai entrepreneurs with markets and trade partners worldwide included organizing product exhibitions, business negotiations, leading trade delegations abroad, and expanding new marketing channels across over 500 promotion events held domestically and internationally, with particular focus on high-potential markets including India and Latin America.
Thailand Content Marketplace partnerships in Brazil and Mexico connected 337 business pairs worth approximately 650 million baht in negotiations. In Africa and the Middle East, a Sourcing Forum connected 33 importers with 130 Thai businesses. The department also advanced creative and digital content initiatives through Thailand Content Market 2026, generating negotiation value of 9,792.4 million baht, while Gamescom 2026 resulted in 270.36 million baht in game industry negotiations.
The DITP expanded international online trade channels through the "TOPTHAI by DITP" project in collaboration with Thai Tana Ltd, launching "THAI TANA x TOPTHAI by DITP" on Amazon UK to promote high-potential Thai products and brands in the British market, providing direct access to foreign consumers and trade opportunities through global e-commerce platforms.
For 2027, the department will assess the situation jointly with government agencies, private sector partners, and 58 overseas trade promotion offices worldwide during the final quarter of 2026 to establish guidelines and export promotion measures aligned with upcoming conditions. The DITP aims to maintain double-digit export growth rates and will adjust its strategy to increase focus on health-related businesses.
