Ex-Bhumjaithai Official Urges Opposition to Probe Foreign Job Poaching
A former Bhumjaithai official calls on opposition parties to investigate foreign job poaching and security threats, arguing these issues should take priority over other political scandals in scrutinizing the government.
On September 16, Vichai Ahuya, former communications officer for the Bhumjaithai Party, commented on the strategic direction of the opposition Democratic Party and Thai People's Party, acknowledging they face many compelling political issues including exam fraud and Senate shareholding scandals. However, he argues that the orange and blue opposition factions, which possess substantial information, should push the government harder on other fronts, especially the use of nominees, foreign nationals taking jobs from Thai citizens, and disrespectful behavior by foreign tourists from Israel, China, India, and elsewhere. The opposition should publicly present their evidence and seriously question the government on these matters.
Vichai added that there are also growing problems with homeless foreign nationals from South America and Africa, as well as foreign criminal elements creating disruption in Thailand. He emphasized that national security must be the top priority, while other domestic issues can be managed later. However, when foreign encroachment into Thailand is involved, the opposition should fully assist in scrutinizing the government, as this would give Thai citizens greater peace of mind. "National security must come first. Other domestic matters we can handle in our own time," Vichai stated. "But when foreigners encroach, if the opposition helps investigate, Thai people will definitely feel more reassured."
