Ex-Boxing Champion Arrested After Drunk Motorcycle Crash
Former IBF flyweight champion Amnuay Ruenrug crashed his motorcycle into a forest while drunk in Chon Buri province on September 3, leading to his arrest after Good Samaritans discovered him injured.
Amnuay Ruenrug, a former international amateur boxer and IBF flyweight world champion, crashed his motorcycle into a forest while drunk on September 3 at 1 p.m. near the railway in Bang Phra subdistrict, Si Racha district, Chon Buri province. Good Samaritans found him injured and contacted Johnny the Cop, a well-known ex-police officer, who agreed to take Amnuay back and arranged for him to be transported to Ubon Ratchathani that afternoon.
Sithichai Jongkrod, 36, who discovered Amnuay crashed in the forest, revealed that although Amnuay had been riding normally that morning, by afternoon he showed signs of intoxication. Jongkrod and other citizens tried to persuade him not to ride again, fearing he would cause an accident. Suthichai Samrutti confirmed that Johnny the Cop agreed to take responsibility for Amnuay and said he would personally drive him to Ubon Ratchathani province that afternoon, warning that leaving him alone would only lead to more trouble.
