Ex-Husband Rams Motorcyclist Rival, Both Injured in Water Fight
A jealous ex-boyfriend in Samut Prakan rammed a motorcyclist into a fish pond during a high-speed chase, injuring both men; police seized a fruit knife used in the subsequent struggle.
On July 10 at 2:30 p.m., Deputy Lieutenant Colonel Natthawut Manassa of Ban Khlong Suan Police Station received a report of a vehicle collision followed by assault. Officers responded to Prachauthit Road 90 near Mang Khong Village in Samut Prakan. At the scene, they found a gray-black Suzuki sedan with its front end and wheels hanging off the roadside near a fish farming area, and a gray Honda ADV 160 motorcycle overturned with collision damage to its right side and dented exhaust pipe.
Two men were injured. Weerawit, 37, suffered knife cuts on four fingers of his left hand, while Ekphaap, 36, was bitten on his back and right shoulder. A fruit knife with a green rope around the handle was seized.
Weerawit recounted that he was driving with his wife when his ex-boyfriend began chasing them from inside Prachassamakkhi Alley (Krathing Daeng Alley). The ex-boyfriend aggressively cut lanes and shouted insults. When the car ahead braked, Weerawit swerved left, but the pursuer kept pressuring him until a neighboring motorcycle was forced into the water. Weerawit said he had previously asked the ex-boyfriend to stop interfering, noting he and his wife had been together for eight years and had a six-year-old child and a house together. He believed the ex-boyfriend should accept reality and back off, but the man continued secretly contacting his wife.
Ekphaap said he was delivering an order in the alley when he spotted the ex-boyfriend's car and followed to talk, as his ex-girlfriend had refused to resolve things with him. He claimed the woman had even taken his child from a daycare. Three days prior, the ex-boyfriend had confronted him at 3 a.m., and the previous day called again at 3 a.m. When Ekphaap asked how to end things, he was told only if he could "seduce" the man's wife. During the chase, instead of stopping to talk, the ex-boyfriend swerved and rammed him, sending both motorcycle and rider into the fish pond. The ex-boyfriend then attempted to stab him with a knife, but Ekphaap grabbed wood and fought back. He was stabbed multiple times. Ekphaap stated they had dated only about two months, and if they were to reconcile, he had already let her go. He noted he had never actually been in a relationship with the woman—she merely visited and took belongings from his room. He denied being an adulterer, pointing out the ex-boyfriend had already ended their relationship but refused to accept it.
