A roti stall at Santisuek Market 2 in Ubon Ratchathani's Ubon municipality has become a local sensation and is receiving overwhelming customer support. Twenty-two-year-old Nichareey Talodpong, known as Nang Nann, took over the family stall to continue the long-standing business.
In just three to four months since taking over, she has generated explosive sales of at least 260 rotis per day, attracting customers of all ages through social media trends on TikTok and Facebook. Her stylish appearance draws attention, and on days when she dresses especially nicely, sales spike dramatically and the atmosphere becomes more relaxed and friendly.
The most popular menu items are egg roti at 25 baht, plain roti at 10 baht, and crispy roti at 30 baht per box, with a promotion of buy ten get one free. The stall opens at midday and experiences peak sales from 2:30 p.m. onward, typically closing by 7 p.m. once stock runs out.
Despite continuous orders, including advance reservations of 30-40 rotis, Nang Nann currently works alone and cannot yet expand the menu to include items like banana or golden threads until she finds an assistant to handle the growing customer queue.
Kamjai Thongsmutr, 44, a long-time customer since the original owner's time, praised the roti's sweet taste, delicious flavor, and perfectly crispy dough. Many customers have been loyal since the original vendor and have now passed their loyalty to the daughter, the second generation. Customers note that the stall has always been crowded with people waiting in line, whether under the original owner or the current generation. Beyond the excellent taste, the vendor's charm and appeal make the shop lively and keep customers returning regularly.
