Former PM Highlights BEANS Coffee Growth and Sustainability Mission
BEANS Coffee Roaster has expanded from selling three cups to 38 branches, with former PM Srettha Thavisin emphasizing the company must now focus on sustainability by supporting Thai coffee farmers and strengthening its supply chain.
On September 6, former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin posted on X about the Prachachat ESG Forum 2026 under the theme "Beyond ESG: Thailand Transition," featuring the panel "Different: Growth: Sustainable." Chananida Thavisin, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of BEANS Coffee Roaster, discussed the company's origins and success while outlining its sustainability roadmap. The BEANS coffee brand has grown beyond expectations, expanding from a small initial operation selling just three cups to 38 branches across major cities.
Srettha stated that he values both "growth" and "sustainability" in every venture, believing that success requires deliberate intention and care rather than shortcuts. "Over the past three years, I've witnessed the growth of BEANS, the coffee business my daughter started from a small room without even a physical storefront. I heard her say on stage that BEANS has exceeded all expectations. For me, BEANS now adequately fulfills the concept of 'growth,'"
However, Srettha emphasized he still awaits the fulfillment of "sustainability." He expressed his desire to see BEANS grow to the point where it can effectively support Thai farmers in earning more income from coffee cultivation, whether through Thai coffee varieties or foreign varieties cultivable in Thailand. "Our business may not be large, but I believe that as we strengthen, we must simultaneously rebuild strength for everyone in our supply chain and repay Thai society. A good business is not just one that grows, but one that grows alongside those around it—and that is true sustainability."
