Land Dispute Turns Deadly as Old Rivals Clash With Knives
A man died and another was critically wounded in a knife attack over a long-standing land dispute in Chumphon's Lang Suan district on September 6, with police detaining the surviving suspect for questioning.
On September 6, 2025, Lang Suan Police received reports of an assault and battery incident with two people seriously injured at a residence in Moo 16, Ban Khuan subdistrict, Lang Suan district, Chumphon province. Deputy Investigation Officer Chutsakarn Chutsanon reported the incident to Lang Suan Station Commander Aphichat Dokmaithong, who dispatched officers and rescue volunteers to the scene.
When police and rescue personnel arrived, they found that relatives had already taken both victims to hospital. The first victim, Gowit, 55, suffered a critical knife wound to the chest and was taken to Lang Suan Hospital, where he later died. The second man, Anisorn, 40, sustained a critical stab wound to the abdomen and was transferred from Pak Nam Lang Suan Hospital to Chumphon Udomsuksa Hospital for further treatment.
Investigators determined that the two men had accumulated tensions over a land dispute for many years. On the day of the incident, they confronted each other, leading to heated arguments and a violent altercation that escalated to knife attacks. Police have detained Anisorn while he remains hospitalized to proceed with legal charges. Officers are gathering evidence and conducting a detailed investigation to file formal accusations.
