Anne Alisha Opens Up About Daughters' School Move
Anne Alisha moved her twin daughters to a new school offering more rigorous academics and specialized programs in music, art, and sports, though the transition meant leaving behind her established community of mother friends.
Anne Alisha brought her twin daughters, Richa and Lisa, to open up about their recent school transfer. Anne explained that as parents, she and her husband felt it was important to find an education system that suited their children better. Initially, they had chosen an International Baccalaureate school, believing its play-based learning approach aligned with their family's travel-focused lifestyle. However, as the girls grew older, Anne wanted to provide them with more rigorous academic opportunities tailored to their individual interests in music, art, and sports.
When asked about the transition, Lisa mentioned she enjoyed the new school's better food options, particularly sandwiches served daily, while Richa appreciated the ice cream and friendly teachers. Richa initially resisted the move, upset about leaving her friends at the old school. Anne acknowledged the difficulty of the decision, having already moved the children twice before, but gave them the opportunity to visit the new school first rather than forcing an immediate transfer.
Anne also became emotional discussing her own experience. She had spent eight years building friendships with other mothers at the old school and found it hard to leave that community. On the last day, she cried while hugging the teachers, realizing she wouldn't return. However, she and the other mothers committed to reuniting every Friday for tennis and meals.
An amusing incident occurred when Richa refused to walk into her new school on the first day, instead insisting on using a wheelchair because of a friend's birthday party injury, leading to her being carried instead.
The sisters have contrasting personalities: Richa is more composed and direct, while Lisa is more playful and clingy. Anne noted that as Richa enters adolescence and develops hormonal changes, she increasingly seeks privacy and space, while Lisa still wants to be attached to her older sister. Richa has also begun showing interest in appearance and makeup, asking for cosmetics as a birthday gift rather than toys.
