Young actor Weir Sukollawat attended a production ceremony for the film "Prasert" at City Pillar Shrine, accompanied by his wife Vicky and daughter Vireen. After the ceremony, he spoke about his close-knit family of three who go everywhere together and shared updates on his daughter's upcoming school enrollment. The family is considering international schools and hopes Vireen will study three languages.
"We're always together," Weir said. "At work, on set, wherever we go—we have to spend time as a unit. Soon she'll start school, but really, since she was born, it's been the three of us. We don't have a nanny, so we go everywhere together. We have a house outside Bangkok for relaxation, and when I'm not filming, we stay at the main house or go back to Khon Kaen. Vireen has many sides to her personality. Some days she wants to play at home, other days she wants to go out—just like us."
On his daughter's social confidence: "Yes, her mother raised her well. She's not shy around people."
He explained that taking her out wasn't an intentional parenting strategy but a natural consequence of their lifestyle. "When we go places, she has to come along. If we like traveling or going on trips, she's fine with it. When she was younger, we didn't know if she'd enjoy it, but now she's older and tells us she has fun. Sometimes we worry if it's too much, but she says going with her parents is enjoyable. She walks as much as we do. When we travel, sometimes she doesn't need us to carry her, but if she's really tired, she'll ask."
Regarding school enrollment: "I need to ask her mother when she'll be old enough. Right now we're in the information-gathering phase, looking for a school that fits our family lifestyle and suits our daughter. I think we'll probably try options in Bangkok first—it's easier. But honestly, some of Thailand's best schools aren't just in Bangkok. Pattaya and Chiang Mai have excellent ones too. We want an international school with three languages. Vicky speaks Chinese and wants Vireen to learn it too. I can't speak Chinese at all, so I'll have to study alongside her. Every family now prioritizes language—Thai, English, and Chinese. Since her mother already speaks Chinese fluently, it's even better. I think three languages is ideal. She's raising the child excellently and I have to admit it. Even when I work, I'm only out part-time, but her mother works 24/7. I give her a million points. Honestly, we couldn't do what she does. I think every family's mother is remarkable—she raises her child perfectly with love and care."
When asked who makes parenting decisions: "We discuss it, but I want her mother to lead because she's with Vireen 24 hours a day."
