Restaurant Worker, 22, Dies in Motorcycle Crash
A 22-year-old restaurant worker died when his motorcycle lost control on a curve in Mae Hong Son's Mae Sareang district early September 6, striking a tree near the roadside.
On September 6, 2025, Deputy Sergeant Worawit Ampornprathan of Tha Ta Fang Police Station in Mae Hong Son received a report of a motorcycle accident in which the rider was killed. The crash occurred on a curve near Ban Huai Sai Cemetery on the Mae Sareang–Mae Sam Laep Road in Moo 5, Mae Yum subdistrict, Mae Sareang district, Mae Hong Son province. Police coordinated with Mae Sareang Hospital and arrived with rescue personnel from Mae Yum subdistrict municipality.
At the scene, officers found a blue and white Honda motorcycle, registered in Phrae province, overturned in grass beside the road. Nearby lay the body of a 22-year-old male wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black trousers, and black socks. Tire marks crossed the grass, and the tree bore scratch marks from impact.
The victim's father said his son worked at a restaurant in Mae Sareang and made the commute regularly. The boy left work around 2:10 a.m. Preliminary investigation suggests the motorcycle lost control on the curve and struck the tree. Officers found no skid marks, no debris from another vehicle, and no signs of collision with any other vehicle. The case will proceed under legal investigation.
