PM Says Ruling MPs Know Their Duty on Budget Vote
Prime Minister Anutin says ruling-party MPs understand their responsibility to pass the 2570 budget bill, adding that the government will address opposition questions during parliamentary debates.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, speaking as leader of Bhumjaithai after a party caucus meeting, said ruling-party MPs need no instructions to attend and pass all readings of the 2570 budget bill smoothly, as it is already their duty. When asked whether the opposition might use the budget forum as a practice run for a no-confidence debate, Anutin said budget matters affect every ministry and agency, giving all lawmakers the right to question and comment, with parliamentary committees responsible for clarifying points. Pressed on whether the opposition might raise off-topic issues such as electoral reforms, the Prime Minister said he cannot know what they will ask, and the government would be ready to answer what it can. He stressed that budget discussions are the domain of parliamentary committees and lawmakers, not the cabinet.
