A major snack‑factory in Samut Sakhon went up in flames early on October 9, 2026, destroying offices, production lines and a warehouse. The blaze broke out at 04:30 on October 9, 2026 at a major snack‑factory in Samut Sakhon, situated on Economic Road 1, Omnoi, Krathum Ban. Police from Krathum Ban Station received the alert and rushed to the scene with seven fire trucks from Omnoi Municipality and over twenty additional support vehicles from surrounding areas. District Chief Pirunrot Nakdontree assumed command of the operation. The fire erupted violently in a large two‑story building used for offices, snack production and warehousing. Firefighters sprayed water for more than an hour before bringing the flames under control and stopping the spread to neighboring buildings, although the rear roof collapsed. No casualties have been reported. Investigators say the fire originated in the office section and quickly moved toward the front and rear of the building; the presence of easily ignitable materials in the production and warehouse areas intensified the blaze, leading to partial roof failure. The cause remains unknown because the office was unoccupied at the time. Estimated damage runs into tens of millions of baht. District Chief Pirunrot Nakdontree ordered ropes to be placed around the site to keep unauthorized personnel away, facilitating firefighting efforts. The cause will be examined later by forensic officials, and structural engineers will assess the building’s stability.
