Flood Victims Receive 88,600 Baht for Damaged Homes, Paid in 15 Days
Thailand’s disaster agency announced that flood victims with destroyed homes will receive 88,600 baht, while families of the deceased will get 35,700 baht from the initial relief fund. A second phase, approved by cabinet, expands payments to 24 additional provinces, providing up to 9,000 baht for flood‑damaged houses and 2 million baht per death. Claimants must link their PromptPay account to their national ID number to receive the money within 15 days after documentation is complete.
Officials said flood victims whose homes are destroyed will receive 88,600 baht, while each death entitles the family to 35,700 baht from the initial emergency fund managed by provincial governors and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. A second tranche, approved by cabinet on September 29, extends aid to 24 more provinces, offering 9,000 baht for houses damaged by floodwaters, 5,000 baht for homes surrounded by water, and 2 million baht per death for bereaved families. A third component covers disaster insurance: housing coverage up to 100,000 baht, with an additional claim possible up to 90,000 baht after the initial payout; for homes surrounded by water, initial aid is 5,000 baht with a further 95,000 baht available; personal injury coverage provides 2 million baht per death and 200,000 baht for permanent total disability. Claimants can file through four channels: the website www.thainatcat.org, the LINE official account @ThaiNATCAT, the call center at 02-012-5555, or local claim centers. After submitting complete documents via the ThaID app, payments are routed through the PromptPay system linked to the claimant's 13‑digit ID number, with transfers expected within 15 days of receipt.
