Floodwaters Rise 1.5 Meters in Bang Nam Priao, Chachoengsao
Heavy floodwaters from Nakhon Nayok have inundated Bang Nam Priao district in Chachoengsao Province, pushing water levels to 1.5 metres and flooding over 400 homes. More than sixty percent of residents have evacuated to a local temple shelter, while others remain upstairs or guard their properties. Authorities warn that continued rises could force power cuts and further evacuations due to electrocution risks.
Bang Nam Priao is inundated as floodwaters from Nakhon Nayok surge in, raising water levels to 1.5 meters. Some residents could not save their belongings, and many households are preparing for further evacuation if power is cut off. As of October 6, 2026, the flood situation in Chachoengsao Province remains worrying, with most districts still experiencing high water, especially Bang Nam Priao District where levels continue to rise after additional inflow from Nakhon Nayok.
A reporter visited Villages 10 and 11 in Don Ko Ka Subdistrict, Bang Nam Priao, and found that water overflowing from Canal 6 Wa had flooded more than 400 homes, forcing over 60% of villagers to seek shelter at the Wat Sunthon Pichit Tararam evacuation centre. Those who remain are mostly home‑guards or live in two‑storey houses, staying upstairs.
Survey shows village access roads submerged under 30‑40 cm of water, blocking small vehicles, while entrances to houses along the canal have water depths of 1.0‑1.5 m.
Fifty‑five‑year‑old Watthana Sangkhasi said the flooding has lasted a week; it was mild at first, but a heavy influx from Nakhon Nayok late last night sent water rushing into homes rapidly, now about chest‑high at 1.5 m. Some families lost possessions to the current, and his own house’s water is creeping toward electrical outlets. If the water rises further tonight, he may have to cut the electricity and evacuate to avoid the risk of electrocution.
