Former Opposition MP Joins For Thailand Party
Former Democrat Party MP Thisanee Chunhawan is joining the For Thailand Party, citing aligned political views and a commitment to campus safety and protecting university students from harassment and abuse.
Thisanee Chunhawan, a former Democrat Party MP, posted a joint photo with Deputy Prime Minister Yasothon Wongsawat, announcing her move to join the For Thailand Party. She will register as a party member on September 10, citing aligned political views and work direction. In her social media statement, Thisanee emphasized that universities must be safe spaces free from harassment, sexual abuse, violence, and misuse of power. She stressed that addressing misconduct requires more than complaint mechanisms—victims need independent, transparent protection systems that ensure complainants will not face retaliation or further harm. She thanked the For Thailand Party and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation for addressing campus violence seriously, as safety and human dignity must exist in all educational settings. Thisanee confirmed she will collaborate with the party on specific issues after completing her membership registration, pending further discussion.
