Man Accuses Massage Parlor of Scam After Brief Service

On September 9, 2023, a 34-year-old man identified as Mr. A filed a complaint with the consumer protection network after being allegedly deceived by staff at a popular massage parlor in the Lat Phrao-Wang Hin area. He claims he was offered an add-on "premium massage" service but received less than one minute of service before staff claimed time was up and demanded full payment. When he refused to pay for what he considered an incomplete service, he says he was surrounded and threatened by approximately three female employees.

Mr. A explained that he had visited the shop 2-3 times previously without incident. On this occasion, he agreed to a standard Thai massage at 400 baht per hour. After the massage began, a female staff member upsold him a "premium massage" service at 1,000 baht, which he negotiated down to 600 baht. However, the service lasted less than one minute—the staff member only briefly touched the genital area before abruptly stopping and claiming time was up.

According to Mr. A's timeline, he entered the shop around 9:00 p.m., began the massage at 9:03 p.m., but the session was terminated at 9:40 p.m.—before the standard massage hour was complete. He became suspicious of intentional fraud. When he refused to pay the 600 baht for the incomplete premium service, the female staff member threatened not to let him leave the room. Mr. A then dressed and moved to the front of the shop, where he was surrounded by approximately three additional female employees who intimidated and pressured him to pay. After he made a remark suggesting he was someone important, the staff relented and allowed him to pay only the standard 400 baht before leaving.

Mr. A characterizes the incident as extortion and consumer fraud. He believes other customers may have fallen victim to the same scheme and has filed this complaint as a public warning.
