The National Science Museum of Thailand (NSM) has won two awards at the 2026 ASPAC Creative Awards ceremony held during the Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centres Conference at Impact Forum in Nonthaburi province. The museum claimed the ASPAC Creative Science Communication Award 2026 for the National Science and Technology Fair, a major national festival celebrating National Science Day that gives young people and the public hands-on experience with science, technology, and innovation. The second award, the ASPAC Creative Science Exhibit Award 2026, went to the Automata: Phrayamanithi exhibition, which blends science, technology, creativity, and Thai literature to create a new learning experience for visitors.
Suwarong Wongsiri, acting director of NSM, said the awards reflect the museum's commitment to developing world-class science communication. The winning projects met strict international judging criteria including scientific accuracy, creativity, effective communication, audience engagement, and practical application of knowledge. He emphasized that the dual recognition represents an important milestone in elevating Thai science communication to the international stage while strengthening NSM's role as a leading organization in inspiring and promoting learning in science, technology, and innovation, with plans to expand collaboration with international science museum networks.
