Huay Rai Police in Phrae province have arrested a man driving alone in a six-wheel truck carrying 10 million methamphetamine pills, with X-ray imaging revealing numerous packages tightly packed in bamboo baskets.
At 1:30 p.m. on September 9, 2025, at the Phrae Provincial Police headquarters, provincial governor Somchai Lertsapithiphan, along with Deputy Police Region 7 Commander Phongdej Khamchasug and Huay Rai Police Station Commander Tatthep Chotidetachatchai, announced the arrest of 38-year-old Thitinanth from Khong district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. Officers seized 10 million methamphetamine pills and a yellow-and-gray Isuzu six-wheel truck registered in Ratchaburi province.
The major drug bust followed a tip-off to Huay Rai drug checkpoint officers that traffickers were preparing to transport a large methamphetamine shipment from the upper northern region by six-wheel truck. At 12:45 p.m. on September 7, when the truck arrived at the checkpoint, officers conducted an X-ray scan and discovered rectangular packages densely packed in bamboo baskets. A detailed search uncovered 40 burlap sacks containing a total of 10 million methamphetamine pills. The suspect was handed over for questioning, and investigators are pursuing further charges and asset seizure related to drug trafficking.
