Governor Leads Temple Foundation Ceremony in Kalasin Province
Kalasin Province Governor Suwattan Khemanthaphet led a merit‑making ceremony to lay the foundation stone and cast a Buddha image for the new Wat Pa Thammayanaram temple. Senior monks, officials, police and local residents participated in the rites, including a communal robe offering and consecration of amulets to raise construction funds. The event aims to build permanent Buddhist facilities and strengthen the practice of Buddhism in the region.
The governor then presided over the laying of the foundation stone for the multipurpose hall, during which Luang Poh Sila performed the ritual, placing silver and gold bricks, nine‑metal plates and the stone slab, and proceeded to cast the Buddha image. Participants joined in the communal robe offering, presenting the triple robe and requisites to Luang Poh Sila and the monastic community. Phra Mahathammana Kitithiro led the disciples in paying respect to their teachers; monks sprinkled holy water over the attendees for blessings, and certificates of appreciation were given to Mayor Theeraphol Yantasabut and supporters of the monks’ retreat who have steadfast faith in Buddhism. The merit‑making activities aimed to construct permanent structures and facilities for Buddhist practices, thereby promoting and perpetuating the religion in the area.
