Gulf Development Donates Air Quality Monitors to Laos
Gulf Development donated air quality monitoring equipment to Laos as part of a bilateral environmental cooperation agreement signed by Thai and Laotian ministers to combat transboundary haze and improve regional air quality.
Gulf Development Public Company Limited, represented by Sitamon Ratanawadee, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, formally delivered automatic air quality monitoring equipment to the Lao People's Democratic Republic during an official state visit by Laotian Environment Minister Linkham Douangsakhan and his delegation. The two nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on natural resources and environmental cooperation to strengthen academic collaboration and environmental management on equal and mutually beneficial terms. The agreement covers air, water, and soil pollution prevention and control; wetland conservation; climate change mitigation; disaster management; remote sensing technology; and capacity building for personnel. Thai Environment Minister Suchart Chomklin and Permanent Secretary Ravewan Phuridet, along with senior officials from both countries, witnessed the signing at the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Gulf Development's donation of the air quality monitoring equipment reflects the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship. The initiative is designed to enhance monitoring, tracking, and management of forest fires in high-risk areas while reducing the impact of transboundary haze and PM2.5 pollution, thereby improving air quality for citizens of both nations.
