Gunman Charged in Double Shooting Reenacts Crime Scene
A 40-year-old suspect was brought to Thai Ngam Temple in Ayutthaya to reenact a fatal double shooting that killed a man and woman, with investigators charging him with premeditated murder and illegal firearm possession.
Ayutthaya police on September 9 brought Nattavut, also known as Ex, a 40-year-old suspect, to reenact the fatal shooting at Thai Ngam Temple in Uthai District. The brief scene reconstruction took only a few minutes before police returned him to the station. During the morning operation, no family members of the deceased or local residents witnessed the reenactment due to lack of awareness of police movements.
Police then returned the suspect to Uthai Police Station for interrogation on the second floor of the holding facility, with his lawyer present. Throughout his detention, the suspect appeared visibly stressed, wore a long-sleeved hooded shirt, and refused to answer media questions. He was visited earlier by family members who brought him food, and was taken in and out of his holding room multiple times.
Investigators remanded Nattavut, 40, to Ayutthaya Provincial Court after questioning him in connection with the deaths of a 44-year-old man shot inside a pickup truck and a 44-year-old woman shot inside a pavilion at Thai Ngam Temple in Uthai District. He faces multiple charges including premeditated murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a weapon in a city or public place without authorization, and discharging a firearm in a city or public area without justification.
Reporters repeatedly questioned the suspect about his relationship with a young woman seen fleeing in the vehicle captured on CCTV footage and whether he was involved in or aware of any connection to the shootings of his wife and another man. However, Ex kept his head down and refused to answer or communicate with media personnel.
