Gunmen opened fire on the former village head’s black Toyota Fortuner while he was on his way to buy coffee. The vehicle sustained multiple hits: the rear driver‑side door glass, front driver‑side door glass, right side mirror, and windshield were shattered, with two additional bullet marks found behind the driver’s seat inside the car. Nuean Saengkham said he was alone, lowering himself to adjust the car stereo when he heard three to four loud impacts; upon looking up he saw the glass broken and a motorcyclist riding past in the opposite direction. He immediately drove back to his house about one kilometre away and called the police.

Inside the vehicle hung an amulet of Luang Pho Chin from Wat Tha Kham, and Nuean himself wore an amulet of Luang Pho Phloen from Wat Nong Mai Leuang, which he believes protected him. After the incident, Pol. Lt. Gen. Kanich Oum‑sa‑ad of Phetchaburi Provincial Police ordered officers to interview witnesses, examine nearby CCTV footage, and swiftly identify and prosecute the assailants; the motive remains under investigation.
