Highway 1237 Reopens After Flood Debris Cleared
Flooding washed trees and mud onto Highway 1237 in Phitsanulok province on September 7, completely blocking the road until authorities and volunteers cleared debris to restore partial access for vehicles.
On September 7, 2025, floodwaters in Bo Phak subdistrict, Chaturak district, Phitsanulok province, washed trees and mud onto Highway 1237 between Ban Rak Chat and Ban Toed Chat villages in the Noen Sawan area, completely blocking the road to all vehicles. Colonel Niran Chaturaksa and troops from Unit 3153 responded to assist the public and restore traffic flow, working to clear the debris from the roadway until partial access was restored, allowing large vehicles to pass, though heavy machinery is still needed to fully clear the accumulated mud and trees.
Distirict Officer Dara Aem-Songprom ordered relevant agencies to expedite inspections and repairs while ensuring public safety. Staff from Bo Phak subdistrict office, the Chaturak highways division, Company 315 border patrol, military personnel, local leaders, and volunteers coordinated efforts that successfully reopened one traffic lane, with additional teams continuing to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
Authorities are also inspecting surrounding high-risk areas to monitor for potential new flash floods and mudslides. The public is urged to exercise caution and strictly follow official guidance when using the route to ensure safe travel.
