Highway Police Battle Raging Floodwaters to Deliver Aid
Highway Police in Nakhon Ratchasima waded through dangerous floodwaters to deliver emergency supplies to 30 households trapped by severe flooding in Pak Chong District on September 27.
On September 27, Highway Police Pak Chong received an urgent request from village headman Asampinpong Rojnburanont of Pong Prathun to distribute emergency supplies to flood-affected residents. A coordinated team of highway police, volunteers, and local officials waded through approximately one meter of rising water and dangerous currents to deliver rice and drinking water to around 30 households trapped by the flooding in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
The community of Pong Prathun sits in a low-lying area adjacent to the Lamtakong River, and heavy runoff from Khao Yai National Park has caused severe flooding affecting multiple subdistricts including Moo Si, Khon Phra, Nong Nam Daeng, and others. Despite the station itself suffering water damage, police prioritized public welfare, with highway command ordering all units to assist residents, evacuate the elderly, children, and disabled persons, and manage traffic on main routes.
