Highway Police Set Up Mobile Kitchen for Flood Victims
Highway Police set up a mobile kitchen in Nakhon Ratchasima to distribute food to over 50 households in Pak Chong District affected by severe flooding along the Lam Takhong waterway.
The Highway Police commander has ordered the establishment of a mobile kitchen to distribute Korat-style stir-fried noodles to flood-affected residents of Pak Chong District, while accelerating efforts to restore and repair police housing once water levels drop and support affected residents. On 28 September at Highway Police Station 1, Group 6 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Deputy Commander Visnu Kamnoenmuang revealed that Police General Nattasak Chaonanasai, commander of the Highway Police, and Police Colonel Porsak Lao-u-chiralay, commander of the Highway Police Bureau, expressed concern for residents of Pak Chong District impacted by severe flooding. They ordered Highway Police Station 1, Group 6 in Pak Chong to establish a mobile kitchen to distribute prepared food to affected residents.
Led by Captain Jirapa Manirat, senior constable of Highway Police Station 1, Group 6, along with families of highway police officers, volunteers from Volunteer Group 904 Nakhon Ratchasima, the Khao Yai Love Club, and highway police traffic volunteers, the team prepared Korat-style stir-fried noodles, fried rice with omelette, and drinking water for distribution to residents of Tham Manao village in Nong Sarai subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima province, numbering more than 50 households. These residents live along the Lam Takhong waterway, which currently remains severely flooded. Water levels in some areas have reached approximately 1 meter high with strong currents, as the area serves as a drainage basin for water flowing from Pak Chong town before reaching the Lam Takhong Dam.
Deputy Commander Visnu stated that prior to entering the area, highway police coordinated with traffic volunteers to urgently clean the Pak Chong Highway Police residential quarters, which suffered significant damage from severe flooding yesterday. However, officers continue to perform their duties alongside volunteer networks to provide ongoing assistance to residents in vulnerable areas. Regarding damage to housing, senior commanders have shown concern for police families and ordered close monitoring and care.
