CLP Group Pivots From Farm Equipment to Agricultural Value Creation
CLP Group is shifting from selling farm equipment to building an agricultural ecosystem that connects farmers, technology, and consumers, debuting its new business models at Toyota Farm Expo Asia 2026 in September.
CLP Group, serving as key partner and major supporter of Toyota Farm Expo Asia 2026 from September 24–29 at Halls 5–8 of Impact Muang Thong Thani, is reshaping its role from post-harvest machinery and technology developer into creator of an Agricultural Value Creation Ecosystem connecting farmland, farmers, technology, processing, products, and consumers. Under the concept "From the Fields to Your Everyday," the company is advancing through Business Model Innovation, Umami Rice Innovation, and the Sisod brand.
Vachara Lee Gomolchai, CEO of CLP Group, stated: "We want people to see agriculture from a broader perspective, because the food we eat, beverages we choose, and products in our homes all originate from agricultural output and farming communities. CLP's mission is bridging these two worlds—introducing technology to help farmers, improving post-harvest efficiency, and turning raw materials into products today's generation wants. We also want the value created along this chain to flow back to the source."
"CLP doesn't see itself merely as a machinery seller, but as a creator of opportunities across the entire chain," he continued. "From equipping farmers with better tools that become a source of pride, to enabling entrepreneurs to start businesses more easily, to transforming Thai agricultural products into high-value, competitive goods. Building good business for us means not just growth, but sustainable development of all actors in the system. That's why we prioritize technology, business models, farmers, communities, and downstream market creation."
On the Business Model Innovation front, CLP has developed new models that transform "technology access" into business opportunity, enabling farmers and entrepreneurs to obtain machinery without large upfront capital investments:
• Rice-for-Machine: Offers farmers, community rice centers, and young smart farmers access to all machinery types by using rice as partial payment—approximately 13 tons of paddy or 8 tons of milled rice over a set period—with after-sales service, maintenance, and delivery included.
• CLP Profit Sharing: For rice-drying business operators using 3.5-, 6-, or 12-ton capacity dryers. There is no upfront machinery cost; instead, income is shared from drying services. CLP handles installation, training, maintenance, and provides expert consultation.
• CLP Subscription: Post Harvest Solution: Converts post-harvest machinery investment into monthly payments, reducing initial capital burden and aligning costs with actual business operations.
• Farmer Partner Network ("Village Sales"): A network of actual equipment-using farmers who demonstrate and recommend products within their communities, earning incentives for customer referrals.
Once technology ensures efficient product management, the next step is upgrading raw material value. CLP is advancing rice processing solutions, including Umami Rice Innovation—precision milling technology that preserves the balance between grain appearance and natural umami flavor without destroying nutritional value. This benefits the entire chain, from farmers gaining added value to millers and consumers receiving superior products.
