Thai Police Launch Flood Relief, Open Royal Kitchens in Bangkok
Thai police launched flood relief operations in Bangkok's Khlong Chan area, establishing royal kitchens and deploying boats to distribute food and supplies to stranded residents in Bangkapi district.
On September 27, 2026, National Police Chief Kittirat Phandpet assigned Deputy National Police Chief Samran Nualma to lead relief operations for residents affected by severe flooding in Bangkok's Khlong Chan area, Bangkapi district. A royal kitchen was established at the National Institute of Development Administration on Serichay Road, where food and drinking water were distributed to flood victims in Khlong Chan flats via boats due to high water levels.
Samran reported that the Metropolitan Police Bureau, under the direction of Commander Sayam Bunsomboon, has deployed royal drones to survey the flooded areas and distribute food and essential supplies. Seven flat-bottomed boats have been sent to areas near Lat Phrao Police Station to reach residents unable to leave their homes.
Police have secured parked vehicles on elevated areas and coordinated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to establish 46 free parking zones outside flood-affected areas. Officers and volunteer police are assisting with traffic management, safety, and convenience across flooded regions in all three affected police regions. The National Police Office has directed officers to monitor the situation closely until conditions return to normal. Residents needing assistance can contact the police emergency hotline at 191 or 1599, and the traffic police hotline at 1197, available 24/7.
