Small Business Credit Insurer Waives Fees for Flood Victims
Thailand's Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation is suspending fees and loan payments for six months to help flood victims in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, with registration open through October 31.
The Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation is rolling out emergency assistance for SME operators and borrowers impacted by the flooding in Bangkok and surrounding provinces. The corporation has introduced two relief measures that will suspend payment obligations for six months, including credit guarantee fees and installments for borrowers whose claims have been paid. Registration for the assistance program runs from September 26 to October 31, 2025.
According to Sitthikorn Direksuantor, chairman and managing director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation, the flooding in Bangkok and its surrounding areas has caused widespread impact. The corporation has launched emergency measures to help its customers and borrowers who have suffered flood damage and have business locations in Bangkok and surrounding areas (as determined by government agencies or the corporation itself).
The two relief measures are as follows:
1. Customer assistance measure: SME operators guaranteed by the corporation will have their credit guarantee fees and credit guarantee management fees suspended for an additional six months from their original payment deadline. This applies to operators whose payments were due between September 26 and October 31, 2025.
2. Borrower assistance measure: Borrowers whose claims have been paid by the corporation and who are currently repaying under a debt restructuring plan and have not defaulted on payments can defer their installments for six months. Registrations for this measure can be submitted from September 26 to October 31, 2025 via the corporation's LINE OA account: @tcgfirst.
SME operators, customers, and borrowers of the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation who have been affected by flooding in Bangkok and surrounding areas as designated by government agencies or the corporation can request additional information from the regional office or contact the corporation's call center at 02-890-9999 or via LINE OA: @tcgfirst.
