On September 28, Deputy National Police Commissioner Samran Nualmaruang visited the severely flooded Keha Rom Klao neighborhood in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok, bringing senior police officials to coordinate relief efforts. The deputy commissioner and his team inspected conditions in the area, home to tens of thousands of residents, and found multiple high-water zones with difficult access in and out. Officers were mobilized to help residents relocate to shelters and safe areas while delivering food, water, and supplies.
On the day of the visit, Samran navigated through floodwaters to distribute 4,000 donated meal boxes along with drinking water and essentials to residents in the Keha Rom Klao community. He also inspected Rom Klao Police Station, which had been converted into an emergency shelter accommodating approximately 100 residents daily. The station also operates as a donation collection point for food, water, and supplies to be distributed to those in need. Medical personnel and equipment from Police Hospital were coordinated to support the health of shelter residents.
Samran stated that the National Police Office applied lessons learned from the Hat Yai floods to manage this crisis. The response includes traffic control, security patrols, nighttime drone surveillance to prevent crime and looting of evacuated homes, and coordination with the public and private sectors deploying boats and jet skis for water safety. Post-flood recovery plans are underway, including clearing traffic-blocking vehicles, assisting residents and belongings back home, and organizing police volunteer teams for house and community cleaning operations until normalcy is restored.
