On September 9, 2569, Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Uthai Thani and Tak provinces announced the reopening of nature study and tourism activities in the area beginning September 10, 2569. Safety measures have been established in coordination with Khao Nang Ram Wildlife Research Station to ensure the confidence and safety of staff and visitors.
Open areas for nature study include the Thung Faek Forest Guard Unit, Huai Kha Khaeng Museum Building, Pheasant Tower wildlife viewing station, Nakhon Sethian Memorial, the sanctuary's headquarters, the Thung Yai–Huai Kha Khaeng World Heritage exhibition building, and riverside kitchen facilities. However, all nature trails including Tiger's House Trail, Red Stone Mountain, Woodpecker Kingdom, and Khao Phatdi, along with the Sab Fa Phai, Kapuk Kapieng, and Cyber forest guard units remain closed during this period.
The sanctuary requests strict compliance with safety measures, including entry from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and departure by 4:30 PM (photography point near museum open until 5:30 PM). Visitors must pay entry fees before entering, stay on designated trails, not travel alone, follow designated roads, and park only at designated spots. If encountering wildlife, keep the engine running, remain in the vehicle, stay quiet, do not feed animals, and wait until the animal leaves. Visitors should wear long clothing for protection against venomous animals and plants, camping is prohibited (researcher accommodation requires 15-day advance notice), and nocturnal wildlife viewing is not permitted.
