Thailand Hosts Global Biosensor Conference Advancing Health Innovation
Thailand hosted the IEEE BioSensors 2026 conference in Bangkok through August 4, bringing together international researchers to advance biosensor technology for practical health and societal applications.
The IEEE BioSensors 2026 conference concluded on August 4th with international researchers united in advancing biosensor technology toward future health innovations with concrete, practical applications. Dr. Pantip Arunee, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Ministry, appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phanavee Phokaiyudom, rector of Bangkok Metropolitan University, to chair the closing ceremony of the IEEE BioSensors 2026 international conference on biosensor technology and biomedical measurement systems. Organized by the IEEE Sensors Council under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a premier international professional and academic organization promoting advances in engineering, science, technology, and innovation, the conference drew researchers, academics, and media to the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park in Bangkok.
Dr. Pantip stated that the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Ministry believes impactful innovation stems from integrated knowledge and cross-sector collaboration. The ministry aims to promote research and development, cultivate a new generation of researchers, and strengthen partnerships among universities, government, industry, and international networks to translate research into practical applications. The ministry hopes this conference will launch sustained collaborative research projects and innovation initiatives that improve public health and quality of life, promote social sustainability, and prepare society for future challenges.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phanavee noted that IEEE BioSensors 2026 provides a vital platform for researchers, academics, and experts worldwide to present findings, exchange knowledge, and develop new ideas through constructive dialogue. This collaboration will shape the global future of biosensor technology. Thailand's selection as host nation in 2569 demonstrates the country's emerging potential as a regional hub for advanced technology cooperation.
The rector added that biosensor technology now plays a critical role across medicine, public health, food safety, agriculture, and environmental monitoring, reflecting how research drives innovation that addresses societal needs, improves quality of life, and supports sustainable development.
The IEEE BioSensors 2026 conference ran from August 2–4, 2569, at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park in Bangkok, featuring keynote lectures, academic presentations, biosensor technology workshops, and industry forums to foster knowledge exchange, build networks, and strengthen collaboration among researchers, academics, experts, and industry professionals from around the world toward concrete innovation and practical application.
