On July 21, 2025, at Parliament, Yingcheep Atchananont, director of the iLaw (Internet for People's Law) project, submitted evidence regarding the Senate election rigging case to Priset Wachrasindhu, opposition coalition coordinator and Thai Raksa Chart Party leader. Atchananont stated that iLaw has been gathering evidence since 2024, and many senior government officials have become accused persons in the case. He warned that suspects are undergoing prosecution but risk leniency through Election Commission manipulation, prompting iLaw to bring the evidence to the opposition coalition for scrutiny.

The evidence concerns nine government officials and MPs, including: Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who in 2023 served as Bhumjaithai deputy leader and allegedly received 14 witnesses at Parliament requesting his help securing Senate seats; Deputy PM Songsak Tongsri, linked to witness accounts of coordinated Senate voter management at hotels in Northeast Thailand; Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Bhradar Parisnanantakul, described as designer of Bhumjaithai's candidate deployment scheme offering 10,000-40,000 baht per candidate; and MP Kraveewan Parisnanantakul of Ang Thong, coalition president spokesman, whose assistant allegedly transported Senate candidates to coordination meetings at hotels in Nakhon Nayok and Maryarden Garden Hotel.

Nara United Boss Apologizes After Failed License Appeal

Nara United's chairman apologized after the club's appeal to retain its Thai League 2 license was rejected for failing to submit required documentation, forcing the Narathiwat club to restart in the semi-professional division.

Nara United Boss Apologizes After Failed License Appeal
21 Jul Khaosod

Affan Hayiyuso, chairman of Nara United, posted an apology to the club's supporters after the appeals process ended unsuccessfully regarding the club's failure to obtain a league license. Nara United had been promoted from Thai League 3 to Thai League 2 but encountered licensing problems and was initially rejected by the Football Association of Thailand's licensing committee. Though the club had the right to appeal, the appeals committee has upheld the original decision, ruling that Nara United failed to submit required club licensing documentation by the specified deadline for Thai League 2 and Thai League 3 play in the 2026/27 season. As a result, the club must restart at the semi-professional level, and Mueang Loei United—which finished fourth in Thai League 3 last season—will be promoted to Thai League 2 in their place, along with Uttaradit FC and PT Stool FC.

Following the ruling, Hayiyuso posted a message apologizing to Nara United supporters and all residents of Narathiwat. In the statement, he expressed that he accepts full responsibility for the disappointment caused and vowed not to abandon the club. "The only thing I can do is prove myself through action," he wrote. "Today we may have to start counting from one again, but I promise to turn every lesson and every mistake into strength to build a stronger and better-standardized club, and to ensure this mistake never happens again. I will not give up and will not abandon this club. I still believe that one day we will stand at an even higher place than before, and when that day comes, that victory will belong to all of us. Thank you to everyone who still loves and believes in Nara United. No matter what happens, I will move forward with this club to the best of my ability."

Five Ways to Verify a Legitimate Loan App
21 Jul Khaosod

In an age when smartphone apps drive financial transactions, using legitimate loan apps to access emergency funds is convenient for workers. However, this ease of access has created an opening for scammers to disguise illegal lending apps as legitimate services. Learning how to vet trustworthy loan apps can protect your finances and safeguard your personal data long-term.

Threats from underground lenders and fraudulent apps are widespread. Misleading advertisements from illegal online lenders often cause unexpected damage to users. The main scams used by fake apps include:

Exorbitant interest rates and hidden fees: While legal financial institutions set fair interest rates, fake apps hide the truth by advertising low rates on signup pages but actually charge daily interest far exceeding legal limits. They also deduct processing fees upfront, so borrowers receive less cash but must repay the full amount plus predatory interest.

Unauthorized access to personal data and contacts: When downloading these apps, users are forced to grant access to sensitive data such as all contact names, gallery photos, and current location—information irrelevant to loan approval. This data is collected to be used for threats and harassment later if payments are late.

Abusive and threatening debt collection: Scammers use psychological pressure, sending vulgar threats, doctoring and sharing borrowers' photos on social media, and calling coworkers or family members from stolen contact lists to shame and coerce payment.

To avoid becoming a victim, workers can use five key criteria to self-assess whether a loan app is legitimate:

1. Clear standards for verifying income documents and financial history: Transparent providers carefully assess repayment ability. Be wary of apps advertising "approval for everyone without income documents" or "no financial history check." Legitimate apps always request pay stubs or income certificates.

2. No requests for unnecessary personal data access: When installing a loan app, carefully check permission settings. Trustworthy apps do not request access to contact lists, photo albums, or other irrelevant data, as these are not needed for loan approval.

3. Transparent disclosure of interest rates and fees: Financial experts recommend calculating annual interest rates before signing any contract.

Construction Material Prices Rise 6.3% in June
21 Jul Khaosod

The Office of Trade and Strategy Policy announced that the construction material price index for June 2025 reached 113.3, representing a 6.3% increase compared to June 2024, though the rate of growth has slowed. All material categories showed price increases driven by elevated energy and transportation costs. Wood and wood products rose 4.5% due to higher raw material and shipping costs tied to oil prices. Cement prices increased 1.3% from demand in government construction projects. Concrete products surged 10.6% as raw material and diesel transportation costs climbed. Steel and steel products rose 2.0% due to higher billet and scrap prices alongside elevated shipping and freight costs. Tiles increased 2.8% from higher natural gas and raw material costs. Coating materials rose 2.2% as paint and resin prices climbed. Sanitary ware went up 2.7% from increased energy consumption in production. Electrical and plumbing equipment jumped 12.3% following rising global copper prices driven by demand in infrastructure, clean energy, and advanced technology sectors. Other building materials climbed 11.2% from increased glass and aluminum prices, with rubber rising alongside global oil prices amid Middle East tensions. The office projects third-quarter 2025 will see continued expansion due to high oil and energy prices expected to persist despite regional ceasefire developments, as refineries and natural gas facilities in the Middle East require time for repairs and recovery.

21 Jul Khaosod

Thai pageant queen Aay Kanyalak Nookaew continues to turn heads at Miss Supranational 2026 in Poland by showcasing Thai silk art on the global stage. The Thai representative has been generating buzz with her elegant appearances and is now preparing intensively for the competition.

Aay recently appeared in a striking look wearing a Thai silk dress that beautifully tells the story of Thai art and local identity. The outfit was inspired by paintings from Associate Professor Nicaleh Radenahmad, a Southern Thai artist whose works reflect the beauty of regional life and culture. The dress was tailored by SAKIYA, a brand that printed the artistic designs onto fabric using safe, non-toxic dyes before crafting a uniquely designed ensemble. The patterns on the shirt and skirt vividly depict "The Flowers of Yala," creating an elegant and vibrant presentation.

Aay collaborated with SAKIYA on the runway previously and has brought the dress back to wear again on the international stage. This is far more than a fashion statement—it represents Thai talent, Thai art, and stories from Thai communities reaching audiences worldwide. The presentation demonstrates that Thailand's beauty extends beyond traditional Thai silk to encompass art, culture, wisdom, and stories from every region that can shine elegantly on the world stage. Special thanks to SAKIYA for championing Thai art and silk as soft power for Thailand on the global platform.

Thailand is rallying behind Aay Kanyalak Nookaew as she competes in the 17th Miss Supranational pageant, with the finals scheduled for July 31, 2026, in Poland.

Doctor Lists 10 Signs of Heart Attack Beyond Chest Pain

A cardiologist shares 10 often-overlooked warning signs of heart attack, including throat tightness, unusual fatigue, and sweating, since cardiac symptoms don't always present as classic chest pain.

Doctor Lists 10 Signs of Heart Attack Beyond Chest Pain
21 Jul Khaosod

Dr. Akanis Srisukwattana, a sports cardiologist and internist specializing in cardiovascular disease, has posted an educational guide on Facebook outlining 10 critical warning signs of cardiac ischemia that everyone should know. Heart disease doesn't always present as textbook chest pain radiating to the left shoulder; symptoms can be subtle, leading people to misdiagnose them as acid reflux, ordinary fatigue, or stress.

Key warning signs include: tightness, heaviness, squeezing, or pressure in the chest (not necessarily pain) that may radiate to the arms, shoulders, neck, jaw, or back; throat tightness or burning sensations resembling acid reflux; unusual or worsening fatigue compared to baseline; symptoms triggered by exertion that improve with rest; sweating, nausea, or dizziness accompanying chest symptoms; symptoms occurring at rest or becoming more frequent and severe; and the fact that even fit athletes with good cardiovascular fitness can have blocked coronary arteries. Dr. Akanis warns against jumping to alternative diagnoses like muscle inflammation or anxiety without proper evaluation, notes that initial electrocardiograms and blood tests may be normal (especially if done too early), and emphasizes assessing both symptoms and individual risk factors such as diabetes, smoking, high cholesterol, hypertension, or family history. He stresses that when in doubt, diagnostic testing should be thorough and conclusive, and that seeking a second opinion from another physician is always acceptable and encouraged, as human error—even among doctors—can occur. Early misdiagnosis of heart disease can be fatal.
