Deputy Interior Minister Vorasidit Liangprasert announced on September 16 that the Interior Ministry is pushing ahead with the fourth round of local government officer recruitment. The ministry will bring the issue to the central civil service committee on September 17 to discuss the timeline and framework, aiming to complete the recruitment process by October following its investigation and action on exam fraud cases.
The ministry's working framework will address the problem comprehensively, handling those involved in fraud based on facts and evidence while protecting candidates who passed the exam fairly and are entitled to appointments under the process. Vorasidit outlined four key discussion points for the committee meeting: the timeline and framework for the fourth recruitment round to meet the October target; support measures for candidates affected by the first three rounds; management of recruitment positions alongside investigations to avoid affecting legitimate candidates; and clarity on next steps after the committee's decision.
Vorasidit stressed that solving the local recruitment problem cannot stop at prosecuting fraud cases but must continue through position management and appointment procedures so the system can move forward and honest candidates are not left behind. He called the September 17 committee meeting a critical step toward resolving the local recruitment crisis and pushing the process forward within the October deadline.
